The Cult

The main reason this whole thing happened was because of a cult that appeared in the area in the 1800s. There isn't much known about the cult, but there have been many theories about what they would do when they were still active, or what they might be doing today.

Rituals

The Cult was thought to have a book of rituals that told them how they were able to do these rituals. Even though many people have gone to the woods and looked for said book, the book itself was never found. 

Many people have had ideas of some possible rituals they might have done, but the main one is the ritual that almost everyone can agree on is the ritual of releasing the spirits of living beings and leaving them in the mortal world, which created the Shadow Figures. The story goes that they would kidnap someone, create the symbol in the woods, put the person's blood in each section of the symbol, then put the victim in the middle of the symbol, then sacrifice them releasing their spirits and having them be stuck with the living. 

Some of the others aren't as agreed on and be hit or miss, but these are some of them:

  • A ritual that had people switching bodies

  • A ritual to control someone's mind

  • A ritual that took other people's life source and added it to their own

  • A ritual to keep someone from dying

  • A ritual to revive someone from the dead
